Pointing Your Domain to Your New Site
You already own a domain — here's how to connect it to your Website Hire website.
Two ways to connect your domain
Choose the option that suits you. Option A is simpler — we recommend it for most clients.
Log in to wherever you bought your domain (e.g. Domains.co.za, GoDaddy, Afrihost) and update the nameservers to ours. We then manage everything for you.
- Log in to your domain registrar (where you bought the domain)
- Find DNS or Nameservers settings for your domain
- Replace any existing nameservers with all of these:
- Save the changes
- Email us to let us know — we'll set up the domain on our end
If you want to keep your DNS at your current provider (e.g. you have emails or other subdomains set up there), add an A record instead of changing nameservers.
Please contact us for our server IP address — we'll send it along with setup instructions specific to your registrar.
After updating your DNS, changes spread across the internet gradually. Your site may not appear immediately — this is normal. Most updates take between 1–4 hours; in rare cases up to 48 hours.
